In March and April 2015, we held workshops at the Sheffield Archives in which members of the public were able to look at archival material about activism in Sheffield, and were then encouraged to produce art of their own – badges and postcards – in response, thereby putting past activism in dialogue with the present.
The project initially held three themed workshops exploring different aspects of Sheffield’s experiences of activism:
- Political Activism
- Work and Trade Unionism
- Feminism and Sexuality
Some of the results were displayed in the Winter Gardens in May 2015.
